NOTE: Ratings were up slightly this week because the election was Tuesday, then Fox had 2 more days of election analysis. As you can see, on Friday the ratings dropped to their usual numbers.

Weekly Factor Average - 3.944 - 4 Days

Ratings: O'Reilly - Hannity - Beck - Total Viewers

NOTE: The not 6 million stuff is because on the Wednesday O'Reilly Factor, Bill O'Reilly told Larry Sabato he had 6 million viewers Tuesday night. And as you can clearly see, he had no such thing, 3.734 million is not 6 million.

And btw, look at the ratings for the Factor on Wednesday 11-3-10 above, the night after the election, it was 4.8 million, which is still not 6 million. So even on the night after Republicans gained a whopping 60 seats in the House, O'Reilly still did not have 6 million viewers.

Word got out that Billy was pissed at Fox for letting Hannity have Palin first, when he has the #1 rated show, and now that Hannity beat him in the ratings you know Billy is really pissed now.

O'Reilly claims his ratings increase every other week, which is just a flat out lie. So I have decided to post the actual ratings to show you O'Reilly is lying about his big ratings increases. I will post the total viewers for O'Reilly, Hannity, and Beck.

Monday - 10-19-09 -- O'Reilly - 3,323,000

Hannity - 2,403,000
Beck - 2,614,000

Tuesday - 10-20-09 -- O'Reilly - 3,381,000

Hannity - 2,440,000
Beck - 2,790,000

Wednesday - 10-21-09 -- O'Reilly - 3,722,000

Hannity - 2,722,000
Beck - 2,555,000

Thursday - 10-22-09 -- O'Reilly - 3,436,000

Hannity - 2,362,000
Beck - 2,920,000

Friday - 10-23-09 -- O'Reilly - 3,426,000

Hannity - 2,495,000
Beck - 2,785,000

I will post the numbers for each week on the following Monday. And btw, here are the ratings for August 24th, and September 24th.

Monday - 8-24-09 --

O'Reilly - 3,440,000
Hannity - 2,937,000
Beck - 2,810,000

Thursday - 9-24-09 --

O'Reilly - 3,487,000
Hannity - 2,559,000
Beck - 2,701,000

As you can see, O'Reilly is always around 3.3 to 3.5, with a show that goes up to 3.7 once a week or so. Then it drops back down the the normal 3.3 to 3.5, that is not a ratings increase. It's called holding steady at 3.3 to 3.5, as the 3 month numbers show. Proving that O'Reilly is lying when he says his ratings are increasing.

Over the last 3 months there has not been any ratings increase at all for the O'Reilly Factor, none. Let alone a ratings increase because of the recent Obama vs Fox News war. And one last thing, last week O'Reilly said he is getting almost 5 million viewers a night, that is also a lie, 3.3 to 3.5 million viewers a night is not almost 5 million, and it's not even close.

And it's not even close enough for a lawyer to argue a case for.

O'Reilly Factor Ratings For October of 2008

Rating - 3.6
Total Viewers - 3,900,000
25-54 Demo - 982,000

NOTE: Ratings are up across the board, because it's close to the presidential election, ratings are way up for all cable news shows. O'Reilly said he got 7 million viewers on the Thursday 10-30-08 Factor, read my blog, he actually had 4.7 million that night. So even when he averages almost 4 million viewers a night for the month of October, he is still lying about his ratings, 4.7 million is not 7 million Billy. Just be glad anyone watches your fraud of a news show.

O'Reilly Factor Ratings For September of 2008

Rating - 3.6
Total Viewers - 4,000,000
25-54 Demo - 970,000

NOTE: Ratings are up across the board, because it's close to the presidential election, ratings are way up for all cable news shows. O'Reilly claims he had 6.5 million viewers a night in September, and beat CBS news. It's a lie, I record the ratings for every show, and the highest one night he had is 4.6 million, with an average of 4 million for the month. It's just O'Reilly lying about his ratings again, for about the 10th time that I know of.

O'Reilly Factor Ratings For August of 2008

Rating - 1.9
Total Viewers - 2,400,000

NOTE: Ratings are up because it's DNC and RNC convention time, ratings are up for all cable news shows.

O'Reilly Factor Ratings For July of 2008

Rating - 1.6
Total Viewers - 1,700,000
25-54 Demo - 392,000

NOTE: The drop to a 1.6 rating with 1,700,000 viewers a night, was most likely because of the July 4th holiday, and the fact that O'Reilly took a two week vacation.

25-54 Demo - 420,000

NOTE: For O'Reilly viewers; 1,8 is less than 1.9, and 2,150,000 is less than 2,350,000, so that's a ratings drop from April.

NOTE: Number of awards for FOX News & Bill O'Reilly - A big fat zero, as in 0.

Because FOX News is not a real news network, it is nothing more than a propaganda outlet for the Republican party. The real measure of a news network is the number of journalism awards they get, not their ratings. That is why NBC, PBS, and CNN win all the awards, because they do real journalism. Ratings are for entertainment shows, which is what FOX News is, entertainment, especially the O'Reilly Factor.

O'Reilly Factor Ratings For January of 2008

Rating - 1.9
Total Viewers - 2,379,000
25-54 Demo - 494,000

Keith Olbermann had the #1 rated show on MSNBC with an 0.8 rating, with 877,000 total viewers, and 334,000 viewers in the 25 to 54 demo. Copy and paste this url into a new browser window to see all the ratings:

http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/original/January%20'08%20(LIVE+SD)%20Program%20Ranker.pdf

STEWERT: BTW, O'Reilly claims the reason Keith Olbermanns ratings are so low is that he is liberal, and nobody wants to watch liberals. The facts show a different story. Keith has the #1 rated show on MSNBC, and the 3 lowest rated shows in all of cable news are Republicans. Joe Scarborough is dead last with 269,000 total viewers, Tucker Carlson is next to last with 332,000 total viewers, and Glenn Beck is right above Tucker with 387,000 total viewers.

Funny how O'Reilly claims nobody is watching Olbermann because he is liberal, when he has the #1 show on MSNBC, and the 3 lowest rated shows in all of cable news are all hosted by Republicans. It's funny how Billy never mentions the 3 worst rated shows in all of cable news are all Republican shows.

The facts show that the only cable news shows that get over 1 million viewers are all on FOX, and that if a Republican does a cable news show on any other network they are dead last in the ratings, or next to last. What that shows is the only people who want to watch Republican news are the people who watch the FOX news channel. What a shocker, Republicans like to watch Republican biased news shows.

But when you take those Republicans off the FOX network nobody watches them. That kills the O'Reilly myth that people only watch Republicans. It also shows that if a liberal does a good news show like Keith Olbermann does people will watch. And if Olbermann was on CNN he would probably get over 1 million viewers and be in the top 5 in ratings, his ratings are limited because he is on MSNBC, which is not on in as many households as CNN and FOX are.

No Monthly Ratings For December of 2007

The website that puts out the monthly cable news ranker did not release the ratings for December. I do not know why, and they did not say why. But I do know they have a Republican bias, and during December O'Reilly took a 2 week vacation. And I also know when O'Reilly is gone his ratings drop by a million viewers a night, or more.

Last friday O'Reilly lost 1.2 million viewers when he had Laura Ingram fill in for him. I suspect his ratings were really low in December of 2007 because he took 2 weeks off. And I am thinking TV Newser did not put out a monthly cable ranker for December because their hero O'Reilly's ratings were so bad. But that is all speculation because TV Newser will not tell me (or anyone) why they did not put out a cable ranker for December.

It seems odd that they put one out for every month of the year, except the one month where O'Reilly takes two weeks off. Then they do not tell anyone why they did not put out a December cable ranker. Since they lean right, one can only assume they did not put it out because they did not want to make O'Reilly look bad because his average monthly ratings were really low that month. Of course, that is all speculation, and if TV Newser wants to correct me they are welcome to e-mail me.

O'Reilly Factor Ratings Drop to 1.7 For May

In May of 2007 the factor had a 1.7 rating, with an average of 1,954,000 viewers a night, and 400,000 viewers a night in the 25-54 demo.

It's a pretty big drop from the April numbers, Billy lost about 500,000 viewers a night from April to May. I suspect the drop was due to O'Reilly taking a 10 day vacation.

O'Reilly Factor Ratings For April 2007

Rating - 2.1
Total Viewers - 2,459,000

Billy thanked his viewers for keeping the factor the #1 rated show in cable news. What he did not tell you is that his ratings are only up 19% (year to year) from April of 2006 to April of 2007. During that same time Keith Olbermann had a 67% increase in total viewers, in April of 2006 he averaged 450,000 viewers a night, he averaged 708,000 viewers a night for April of 2007.

O'Reilly lied about his ratings again, as you can see the factor averaged 2.45 million viewers a night for February of 2007, yet on the 3-2-07 factor he told Dick Morris he gets 4 million viewers a night.

O'Reilly Factor Ratings For January 2007

Rating - 2.1
Total Viewers - 2,424,000
25-54 Demo - 500,000

Once again O'Reilly lied about his ratings, as you can clearly see the factor averaged 2.4 million viewers a night for January of 2007. Now look what he said last night on the 1-31-07 factor.

O'REILLY: FOX News prime time household average was more than 1.5 million. And "The Factor" led everyone with more than 2 million homes, more than 2.6 million viewers at 8, another 1.3 million at 11. So you can see, you know, what the situation is about who is watching.

Earth to Billy, 2.4 million is not 2.6 million, do the math.

Factor Ratings Down 22% From October of 2005

Remember these numbers the next time O'Reilly says his ratings are up, and remember that he is lying to you, then remember he claims to have a no spin zone. How can you claim to have a no spin zone if you cant even tell the truth about your ratings. Not only are his ratings down 22 percent from October of 2005, they are down 37 percent from his high of 3.1 million viewers a night in 2004. Yet "Billy" is on the Factor about once a month thanking his viewers for the ratings increase. When your ratings have dropped 37 percent in the last 2 years how in the hell is that a ratings increase, and how is that a no spin zone.

O'Reilly Factor:

Total Viewers - Oct. 2006 -- 2,081,000 --- Oct. 2005 -- 2,678,000 --- 22% Drop
25-54 Demo - Oct. 2006 -- 470,000 --- Oct. 2005 -- 518,000 --- 9% Drop

Now compare that to the numbers for Keith Olbermann, his ratings have actually went up, and he is the #1 rated show on MSNBC.

Countdown With Keith Olbermann:

Total Viewers - Oct. 2006 -- 637,000 --- Oct. 2005 -- 381,000 --- 67% Increase

O'Reilly Factor Ratings For October 2006

Rating - 1.8
Total Viewers - 2,052,000
25-54 Demo - 454,000

Once again the factor averaged a 1.8 rating for the month of October. And his total average viewers per night had a slight drop from 2,057,000 in the 3rd quarter, to 2,052,000 for October. He also had a slight drop in the 25-54 demo, from 478,000 in the 3rd quarter, to 454,000 in the month of October.

Dont you think his total viewers should be going up, not down, especially in the month before an important election. When I compare the 3.1 million viewers O'Reilly was getting a night in October of 2004, to the 2,052,000 million he gets a night now, the right-wingers flip out and tell me all the news shows have a ratings increase before an election. They tell me it's unfair to compare the numbers a month before an election to the numbers after an election.

Yet in October of 2006, a month before the election, and O'Reilly's ratings did not go up at all, in fact, they dropped slightly. Okay right-wingers, explain that to me. Explain to me where O'Reilly lost a million viewers a night, and why, you cant use the month before an election excuse now.

From October of 2004, to now, O'Reilly has lost 1.1 million viewers a night, this is a fact, there is no way to spin it, those are the numbers. In October of 2004 the Factor was averaging 3.1 million viewers a night, now he averages 2,052,000 million viewers a night, these are the cold hard facts.

O'Reilly factor ratings for the 3rd quarter from 6-26-06 to 9-22-06

Rating - 1.8
Total Viewers - 2,057,000
25-54 Demo - 478,000

O'Reilly is holding steady at a 1.8 rating and about 2 million viewers a night. In May, June, and July he had 2.1 million viewers a night. The Factor ratings are not dropping, but they are not going up either. And they are down from the high of 3.1 million a month a year ago. It looks to me that he has found 2 million right wing idiots who will watch his all spin zone show, but that seems to be the limit.

O'Reilly Factor Holds at 1.8 For July (Slight Drop in Total Viewers)

The O'Reilly Factor averaged a 1.8 rating with an average of 2,119,000 million viewers a night for July of 2006. So the factor had a slight decrease in total average viewers per night over June. So if you hear O'Reilly say his numbers are up, he is lying again.

www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/original/july06ranker.pdf

O'Reilly Factor Averages 1.8 Rating For June of 2006

The O'Reilly Factor averaged a 1.8 rating with an average of 2,141,000 million viewers a night for June of 2006. So the factor had a slight increase in total average viewers per night over the May numbers, but his rating stayed the same as May. This is the first time the factor viewers have increased from the last month in about 6 months. His overall numbers are still way down from October of 2005 when he was averaging 3.1 million viewers a night. So when O'Reilly says his numbers are up, you know he is lying.

O'Reilly Goes Off The Deep End With Ratings Spin on MSNBC & FOX

6-27-06 -- O'REILLY: Time now for "The Most Ridiculous Item of the Day". If you've read any of my books, you know I believe in karma. Do bad things, you'll get yours eventually. Do good things, you'll get rewarded.

Recently, two bad guys got theirs. Air America's fired its president, Gary Krantz. The disastrous radio network booted him out on the heels of the removal of CEO Danny Goldberg. We believe there is major chaos at that far left concern.

There's also major chaos at MSNBC, where Rick Kaplan has left after pretty much destroying that place. He did the same thing at CNN before he got fired over there. Closing in on its 10th anniversary, MSNBC's ratings are lower than they were six years ago, which might be ridiculous.

And now something O'Reilly has a big problem with, the truth.

6-29-06 -- The latest ratings have come out. From a year ago to right now, MSNBC‘s ratings are up 12 percent overall, 13 percent among viewers 25 to 54, Keith Olbernmann's ratings are up 37 percent and the factor ratings are down 20 percent.

Hey Billy, FOX‘s ratings are lower than they were five years ago. In May alone FOX had a 22 percent drop in the 25 to 54 demo, and an 8 percent drop overall. And the factor has lost a million viewers a night from October of 2004 when O'Reilly averaged 3.1 million viewers a night, to now when O'Reilly averages 2.0 million viewers a night. And all 11 of FOX‘s regular shows ratings are down, four of them are down by 15 percent or more. If John Gibson loses any more audience, he won‘t even need a microphone. And your boss, Jabba the Hut is taking out ads threatening to fire his own employees. Yet none of this was ever mentioned on the so-called no spin zone. These are the facts, not the ratings spin from O'Reilly, these numbers come right from Neilson.

O'Reilly Factor Averages 1.8 Rating For May of 2006

The O'Reilly Factor averaged a 1.8 rating with an average of 2,003,000 million viewers a night for May of 2006. So the factor rating stayed the same for May as it was in April, but he did have a slight drop in total average viewers a night. If he claims his ratings went up in May, you now know he is lying again.

www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/original/may06ranker.pdf

O'Reilly Factor Averages 1.8 Rating For April of 2006

The O'Reilly Factor averaged a 1.8 rating with an average of 2,084,000 million viewers a night for April of 2006. Yet a few days ago O'Reilly said his ratings were up, hey Billy, how is 1.8 higher than 2.0?

www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/original/april06ranker.pdf

O'Reilly Factor Averages 2.0 Rating For 1st Quarter of 2006

The O'Reilly Factor averaged a 2.0 rating with 2.2 million viewers a night for the 1st quarter of 2006. A far cry from the 6 million total viewers O'Reilly claims he has, he says they don't count his other 2 million viewers, or his rerun viewers. Yet when O'Reilly mentions Keith Olbermann's ratings (or any other news shows ratings) he does not count his total viewers, he only reports Olbermann's neilson rating from his 8:00pm broadcast, explain that Billy.

www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/original/q406ranker.pdf

In December of 2004 O'Reilly Said he Had 6 Million Viewers a Night

From a 12-15-04 interview with Ashleigh Banfield:

BANFIELD: Well, the word is that there are going to be changes maybe at CBS anyway. We don't know what's going on. There's a -- there's a real upheaval, it seems, in cable news right -- or, excuse me, in broadcast news right now.

And why is that? Because people like you are getting two million viewers a night, and you're making a lot of money doing it which makes stars.

O'REILLY: Let me break this to you. I get -- I get six million viewers a night, which they'll never admit, but that's the way it is.

----------------

Here is what he said on the 3-22-06 Factor:

O'REILLY: "The Factor's" total cumulative, 24 hours, about four million viewers a night, not counting the Direct TV people and the college people. That makes us very competitive with the late night network shows and the net morning programs. We also are creeping up on "The CBS Evening News".

----------------

And now the truth, for February of 2006 the O'Reilly Factor averaged a 1.9 rating with 2.3 million total viewers a night. And the Factor ratings have dropped from a 2.5 rating in October of 2005 to a 1.9 rating for February of 2006.

O'Reilly Factor Ratings Drop Again to 1.9 For February 2006

In February the factor ratings dropped again to a 1.9 with 2,228,000 total viewers a night. But of course this will never be reported on the factor, because Billy is a dishonest right wing spin doctor who can not tell the truth.

February 2006 Factor Ratings: www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/original/feb06ranker.pdf

O'Reilly Factor Ratings Drop to 2.0 For January 2006

The Factor averaged a 2.2 for the year 2005, in January his ratings dropped to a 2.0 with 2,325,000 total viewers a night. But of course this will never be reported on the factor, because Billy has to keep his sheep misinformed. If Billy had any integrity at all he would stop lying to the people about his ratings increasing, they are not increasing, and that is the real no spin truth.

January 2006 Factor Ratings: www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/original/jan06ranker.pdf

Despite O'Reilly's Claims The Factor Ratings Are Not Increasing

O'Reilly is always talking about how his ratings are going through the roof and thanking his viewers for increasing his ratings. But it'a all a lie, his ratings have not gone up at all in the last year.

In October of 2004 the O'Reilly Factor was averaging 3.1 million viewers a month and a 2.8 rating. In October of 2005 the Factor averaged 2.6 million viewers a month and a 2.3 rating. But in November of 2005 the O'Reilly Factor only averaged 2.5 million viewers a month and a 2.2 rating. So his ratings have actually went down over the last year.

That's a total average loss of 600,000 viewers a month since October of 2004. And his yearly rating is down to a 2.2, with an average total viewer number of 2,490,000 a night. But if you watch the factor you would think O'Reilly's ratings have gone up, when in fact, they have went down.

This is the yearly average for the O'Reilly Factor from 12-27-04 to 12-25-05.

8-15-05 -- Nielson Cable News Ratings for July 2005.

The factor averaged a 2.1 rating for July of 2005, that is up 0.1 from his June average of 2.0. He averaged 2,370,000 million viewers a night for July of 2005.

Greta was #2 with a 2.0 rating and 2,158,000 viewers a night average for July of 2005. She is very close to beating him, watch out O'Reilly.

Here are the official numbers:

http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/original/aug05ranker1.pdf

Since October of 2004 the O'Reilly factor ratings have dropped from a monthly average of 3.1 to a monthly average of 1.7 in May of 2005. This all started in October after the O'Reilly phone sex scandal with Andrea Mackris.

The Factor had a slight rebound in June with a 2.0 rating average.

In case you are wondering what the O'Reilly phone sex scandal was, Click Here to read the entire 22 page legal filing by Andrea Mackris. It has a detailed transcript of what O'Reilly said to her on the phone.

Breaking: The big slide continues, once again the factor ratings have dropped for the 7th month in a row. In October of 2004 the factor had a monthly average of 3.1 million viewers a month. Since then the factor has lost viewers every month. Last month (May) it dropped to a monthly average of 1.7 million. In April it was 1.9, so the factor viewers are still leaving at a rate of about 200,000 a month.

CABLE NEWS RACE

Tuesday, 4-27-04

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 27, 2004--FOX News Channel (FNC) beat CNN and MSNBC combined in viewership and demographics in the Prime Time and 24-Hour time periods for April '04, according to Nielsen Media Research.

In addition, FNC continued its dominance capturing ten out of the top eleven shows in cable news. CNN's only show in the top eleven, Larry King Live, remained at number four with 1,335,000 viewers. King trailed FNC's The O'Reilly Factor (2,240,000 viewers), Hannity & Colmes (1,638,000 viewers) and The FOX Report with Shepard Smtih (1,465,000 viewers) respectively.

While all news networks suffered a drop-off from last April's ratings, FNC demonstrated the smallest drop in both the Prime Time and 24-hour time periods. FNC averaged 1,497,000 viewers in Prime Time, whereas CNN and MSNBC combined to average only 1,156,000 viewers. MSNBC lost nearly three-quarters of its April 2003 Prime Time audience and CNN plummeted 63% in Prime Time viewership.

In the 24-Hour Time period, FNC averaged 884,000 viewers vs. the 713,000 viewers CNN and MSNBC drew collectively. Again, MSNBC saw 72% of its audience vaporize and CNN almost matched it with 69% of its audience vanishing from April '03.

April's big losers included CNN's much hyped Paula Zahn Now and Wolf Blitzer Live, down 72% and 65% respectively from Apr. '03. On MSNBC, Countdown with Keith Olbermann and Lester Holt Live were down 69% and 82% respectively from their Apr. '03 averages.

NOTE: People are leaving CNN and MSNBC because they are just like FOX, all the liberals I know have stopped watching cable news because their republican bias is so bad they stopped watching all of them. That is why CNN and MSNBC had a 70% drop in the ratings in April, they have become FOX 2 and FOX 3, there is no objective fair and balanced media in America anymore. CNN and MSNBC have sold out their viewers and now they are all going to the internet for the news.

The Daily Show's fake news steals ratings from the real news

4-01-2004 -- Fake and scathing 1, fair and balanced 0. CNN and MSNBC have gotten used to losing to Fox News. But during the Democratic primaries, an unexpected foe stole the ratings crown from all three. The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, a mock news program airing on Viacom's (VIA) Comedy Central, attracted more viewers at 11 p.m. than any of the cable news channels in the last two weeks of January, outdoing Fox by 20 percent even as the news network was running live campaign coverage. Stewart's fake news show has won ever-growing audiences with help from real politico guests like John McCain, Hillary Clinton, and John Edwards.

Note: If a fake news show is beating a real news show in the ratings by 20% what does that tell you about the real news show.

The Ratings Mirage

Why Fox has higher ratings--when CNN has more viewers

Reporting on the ratings rivalry between the Fox News Channel (FNC) and CNN is often misleading--and almost always over-hyped.

"Fox Tops CNN as Choice for Cable News," declared one typical headline (Chicago Tribune, 3/24/03). "Fox News Channel Continues to Crush CNN," reported Knight Ridder (Dallas Morning News, 2/3/04) in a column comparing the rivalry to a party primary: "Fox News Channel is winning the Nielsen caucuses." Last summer (8/17/03), the New York Times Magazine declared, looking back at the period of the Iraq invasion, "Fox was--and still is--trouncing CNN in the ratings."

After exposure to countless similar stories published since January 2002, when Fox was reported to have surpassed CNN in the Nielsen ratings, one might naturally conclude that Fox has more viewers than CNN.

But it's not true. On any given day, more people typically tune to CNN than to Fox.

Note: I am not posting this to promote CNN in any way, they are almost as bad as FOX. I am posting it to show how FOX spins the ratings and how the rest of the sell out corporate media does not even have the balls to call them on it. FOX is not #1, CNN is.

CABLE NEWS RACE - MARCH 3, 2004

FOXNEWS O'REILLY 2.1
FOXNEWS HANNITY/COLMES 1.6
CNN LARRY KING 1.3
FOX NEWS SHEP SMITH 1.3
FOXNEWS GRETA 1.1
FOXNEWS BRIT HUME 1.0
CNN AARON BROWN 0.8
CNN PAULA ZAHN 0.5
MSNBC HARDBALL 0.4
MSNBC SCARBOROUGH 0.3
MSNBC NORVILLE 0.3
MSNBC OLBERMANN 0.2
CNBC DENNIS MILLER 0.1

Note: Notice that all 4 MSNBC shows are getting an 0.4 rating or less, yet the Phil Donahue show was cancelled when it was getting an 0.5 rating, and the ratings for Donahue were increasing. That proves the media cancels liberal shows even when they are getting better ratings. The Donahue show was the #1 rated show on MSBC yet it was cancelled. Dennis Miller (Republican) does an 0.1, tell me how in the hell that lame ass show stays on the air ?
