The Un-Reported Issues O'Reilly Ignores

This web page will show you more proof Bill O'Reilly is a biased right-wing republican. I will list the news stories and the issues that O'Reilly never reports on. It will show a clear right-wing bias in his reporting. Some of the bias in the media is shown in the stories and the issues that are not reported. You should ask yourself if O'Reilly is watching out for the little guy, why does he not report on these issues. The answer is clear, he defends the corporations, Bush, the republican party in general, and the wealthy.

3-5-04 -- Let's start with today, the jobs report for February came out today. It showed only 21,000 new jobs were created in February. And every one of those 21,000 jobs were government jobs, not private sector jobs. Not to mention we lost another 3,000 manufacturing jobs in February, that is the 43rd month in a row the economy has lost manufacturing jobs. Despite the fact that the Bush economic team predicted 300,000 jobs a month would be created after his tax cuts kicked in on July 1st of 2003. They only missed by 280,000, are they ever right about anything. So far they have been wrong on every economic prediction they have ever made for 3 years straight. And yet not one word about the jobs report or the economy from O'Reilly on the factor tonight. He was too busy discussing Martha Stewart and lesbians on showtime.

Back when the 2003 3rd quarter economic report came out with the GDP at 8.2 percent O'Reilly covered that story almost nightly for about a week. He even did a talking points memo saying how it was great news for Bush. He stated that if the economy continues to grow at a good rate Bush will be re-elected for sure. Yet when the economy shows bad job creation numbers O'Reilly just ignores the story. When the economic numbers are good he reports on them to help Bush, but when they are bad he does not report on them to help Bush. Is that fair and balanced reporting, not hardly. Bill is clearly trying to help Bush in every way possible.

3-10-04 - Update on the jobs report, yesterday I confirmed what I pretty much already knew, the economy has created 290,000 jobs since April of 2003, of those 290,000 jobs created 215,000 of them were part time low paying service sector jobs with no benefits. The Bush economic council said that after July of 2003 when the Bush tax cuts take effect the economy would create 300,000 jobs a month. It took a year to create the jobs they predicted for one month, yet Bush claims his tax cuts are working and the economy is doing great. Not one word from O'Reilly about jobs or the economy, O'Reilly is covering for Bush by not reporting on the issue. And the entire media is a joke, they only report jobs created, they do not say a word about those jobs being part time with no benefits.

Here is a small list of issues O'Reilly does not report on:

1) Halliburton

They cheat the taxpayers and not a word from O'Reilly about it or doing business with countries on the enemy list violating the trading with the enemy act. In fact O'Reilly has not done any reporting on Halliburton.

2) The environment

O'Reilly claims to support environmental issues, yet he never does any shows on them. Of course by never I mean almost never, he does one once or twice a year just to make it look good.

3) Scalia going hunting with Cheney when he knows he has to rule on a case involving Cheney.

Not one story on the factor about this issue.

4) Corporations shipping jobs overseas even when they are making money.

Not one story on the factor about this issue.

5) Health care

O'Reilly rarely ever does health care stories, and when he does he always supports the republican position on health care.

6) Business tax rates compared to the average working mans tax rates.

The average business tax rate is 11 percent, the lowest tax rate for the working man is 15 percent. How insane is that, yet O'Reilly never does any stories about Businesses paying too little of a tax rate.

7) The OSP (Office of Special Plans).

Not one story on the factor about this issue.

Ask yourself why Karen Kwiatkowski has never been a guest on the factor. Ask yourself why PNAC has never been covered on the factor. Ask yourself why Greg Theillman has never been on the factor. Ask yourself why the OSP has never been covered on the factor.

After two decades in the U.S. Air Force, Lieutenant Colonel Karen Kwiatkowski, now 43, knew her career as a regional analyst was coming to an end when in the months leading up to the war in Iraq she felt she was being "propagandized" by her own bosses.

With master's degrees from Harvard in government and zoology and two books on Saharan Africa to her credit, she found herself transferred in the spring of 2002 to a post as a political/military desk officer at the Defense Department's office for Near East South Asia (NESA), a policy arm of the Pentagon.

Kwiatkowski got there just as war fever was spreading, or being spread, as she would later argue, through the halls of Washington. Indeed, shortly after her arrival, a piece of NESA was broken off, expanded and re-dubbed with the Orwellian name of the Office of Special Plans. The OSP's task was, ostensibly, to help the Pentagon develop policy around the Iraq crisis.

She would soon conclude that the OSP a pet project of Vice President Dick Cheney and Defense Secretary Don Rumsfeld was more akin to a nerve center for what she now calls a "neoconservative coup, a hijacking of the Pentagon."

Though a lifelong conservative, Kwiatkowski found herself appalled as the radical wing of the Bush administration, including her superiors in the Pentagon planning department, bulldozed internal dissent, overlooked its own intelligence and relentlessly pushed for confrontation with Iraq.

8) Bush Lies

Not only does O'Reilly never report on all the Bush lies, he denies Bush has lied about anything. Do a google search on Bush lies, you only get 89,000 matches or so, yet O'Reilly claims Bush has not lied about anything. There is even a website called Bush Lies, they document all his lies.

9) How Bush lets corporations pollute the air and water

He even fired 270 enforcement officers working for the EPA. Not one story about this on the factor.

10) Worker rights

Not one show on the factor about workers rights.

11) Offshore outsourcing

Not one show on the factor about corporations outsourcing work to china etc.

12) Law and Order & the rule of law

O'Reilly is constantly doing shows about liberal judges and the weak sentences they hand out etc. Yet when the republican congressman Bill Janklow was convicted of manslaughter for killing a man while speeding after he ran a stop sign, he got a 100 day sentence with time off after 30 days to do community service. This sentence was an outrage, yet Mr. justice O'Reilly did not say one work about the weak sentence or do one story about it on the factor. Where was the outrage O'Reilly, oops I forgot the guy is a republican. On the factor most republicans get a pass, if Janklow had been a democrat O'reilly would have covered this story almost daily.

13) Israel

O'Reilly almost never reports any negative stories about Israel, but he reports all the negative stories about palastine. If a suicide bomber blows up a bus or a shop in Israel, O'Reilly reports the story in detail. But if Israel sends the troops in to wipe out a city O'Reilly barely (if at all) reports it. You should also know that O'Reilly gives speeches for at fundraisers for Israel. Something he does not disclose himself, funny how he never mentions that.

14) WMD's (IRAQ)

O'Reilly rarely does any shows on the WMD's in Iraq. He did a couple shows on them a few months ago, but they were few and far between. And the shows he did do he claimed nobody cares whether we find WMD's or not. O'Reilly claims removing saddam was a good thing so it was worth it going into Iraq. Which is insane, everyone agrees having saddam gone is a good thing, I do too and so do all the liberals. The point is Bush and his administration lied us into an un-needed, un-justified, illegal war. That is the problem, they lied us into the illegal was based on the WMD scare. Funny how O'Reilly supported Clinton being impeached over a lie about sex, yet Bush lies us into a war that gets 550 (so far - 3-7-04) Americans killed and thousands wounded, and O'Reilly defends Bush and covers for him. Then he claims he is not a republican, now that is a joke.

Even when O'Reilly did do a rare WMD show he basically spent the whole time defending Bush and blaming it all on the CIA. Yet when Clinton was president O'Reilly blamed everything on him and said the buck stops at the presidents desk. Somehow Clinton was to blame for everything in America when he was president, but now O'Reilly says Bush is not to blame for anything.

What's really funny is I have a poll on my website asking if Bush owes us an explanation about not finding WMD's in Iraq. Here are the results of that poll, you be the judge if the people care or not.

Does President Bush owe you an explanation about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq?

Hell Yes - 2868 votes (81.2%)
No - 621 votes (17.6%)
Not Sure - 46 votes (1.3%)

Total Votes: 3530

I guess 81% of the people do care, despite the fact that O'Reilly says otherwise. It shows what a spinner he really is. In my world 81% is a huge majority.

15) Bush Fund-Raisers Among Overnight Guests in Lincoln Bedroom

Remember the big outrage by O'Reilly and the cable media over Bill Clinton having people who donated money to his campaign spend the night in the Lincoln Bedroom. They said Clinton was selling the White House to the highest bidder, among other things. Well George W. Bush is doing the exact same thing, yet not one word from O'Reilly or the cable news shows. Don't forget O'Reilly said he would be as tough on Bush as he was on Clinton, yeah right, if you believe that I have some land to sell you. I could do a whole website just on things O'Reilly has refused to report about Bush because it would hurt him politically.

3-10-04 -- WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush opened the White House and Camp David to dozens of overnight guests last year, including foreign dignitaries, family friends and at least nine of his biggest campaign fund-raisers, documents show.

16) Project For a New American Century (PNAC)

It was in no way a conspiracy. As far back as 1998, ultra right US think tanks had developed and published plans for an era of US world domination, sidelining the UN and attacking Iraq. These people were not taken seriously. But now they are calling the tune.

There are real models for this. They were already under development by far right Think Tanks in the 1990s, organisations in which cold-war warriors from the inner circle of the secret services, from evangelical churches, from weapons corporations and oil companies forged shocking plans for a new world order.

In the plans of these hawks a doctrine of "might is right" would operate, and the mightiest of course would be the last superpower, America.

To this end the USA would need to use all means - diplomatic, economic and military, even wars of aggression - to have long term control of the resources of the planet and the ability to keep any possible rival weak.

In this liberal climate there came, nearly unnoticed, a 1997 proposal of the Project for the New American Century (PNAC) that forcefully mapped out "America's global leadership". On 28 Jan 1998 the PNAC project team wrote to President Clinton demanding a radical change in dealings with the UN and the end of Saddam.

While it was not clear whether Saddam was developing WMD, he was, they said, a threat to the US, Israel, the Arab States and "a meaningful part of the world's oil reserves".

17) The U.S. Commission on National Security/21st Century (Hart/Rudman Terrorism Report)

NOTE: Ask yourself why O'Reilly, Hannity, Scarborough, Wolf, Judy, FOX, CNN, MSNBC, etc. WILL NOT even mention the 1-31-01 Hart/Rudman terrorism report that was given to Bush in January of 2001. Then ask yourself why O'Reilly and the entire media refuses to have either Gary Hart or Warren Rudman on any of their shows. Ask yourself why the 9-11 commission will not have Mr. Hart or Mr. Rudman testify before their commission. This is our media folks, they are refusing to even mention the 1-31-01 Hart/Rudman terrorism report. Let alone have anyone from the Hart/Rudman study on their tv shows.

They spent 3 years and $15 million dollars on this report, yet Bush shut it down and ignored it totally. They made 50 recommendations and gave it to Bush on 1-31-01, Bush ignored the report and ignored all 50 recommendations. UNTIL after 9-11 that is, then they enacted all 50 recommendations and took credit for those recommendations. The Bush administration basically stole their terrorism strategy from the Hart/Rudman report and called it their own. They also took Richard Clarkes recommendations on terrorism and claimed they put them in place. But only after 9-11, before 9-11 they totally ignored him and his terrorism strategy.

A Paul Revere no One Wants to Hear From

Gary Hart co-chaired a national security panel that warned the Bush administration (on 1-31-01) the terrorists were coming. Why hasn't the 9/11 commission called any of us to testify?

The U.S. Commission on National Security/21st Century was created by President Bill Clinton (Yet the republicans claim Clinton did nothing to fight terrorism) in October 1998, with the approval of the congressional leadership. It was a bipartisan commission with a three-year life and a mandate to review threats to national security and opportunities to avoid those threats and to report to the next president of the United States in January 2001. It completed the most comprehensive review of U.S. national security since 1947.

And here is another article from 9-12-01, one day after the 9-11 attacks.

January 2001 Terrorism Report by U.S. Commission on National Security Proves Bush Ignored Terrorism Before The 9-11 Attacks

A bipartisan commission warned the White House and Congress that a bloody attack on U.S. soil could be imminent. Why didn't anyone listen?

September 12, 2001 | WASHINGTON -- They went to great pains not to sound as though they were telling the president "We told you so."

But on Wednesday, two former senators, the bipartisan co-chairs of a Defense Department-chartered commission on national security, spoke with something between frustration and regret about how White House officials failed to embrace any of the recommendations to prevent acts of domestic terrorism delivered earlier this year.

Bush administration officials told former Sens. Gary Hart, D-Colo., and Warren Rudman, R-N.H., that they preferred instead to put aside the recommendations issued in the January report by the U.S. Commission on National Security/21st Century. Instead, the White House announced in May that it would have Vice President Dick Cheney study the potential problem of domestic terrorism -- which the bipartisan group had already spent two and a half years studying -- while assigning responsibility for dealing with the issue to the Federal Emergency Management Agency, headed by former Bush campaign manager Joe Allbaugh.

The Hart-Rudman Commission had specifically recommended that the issue of terrorism was such a threat it needed far more than FEMA's attention. Before the White House decided to go in its own direction, Congress seemed to be taking the commission's suggestions seriously, according to Hart and Rudman. "Frankly, the White House shut it down," Hart says. "The president said 'Please wait, we're going to turn this over to the vice president. We believe FEMA is competent to coordinate this effort.' And so Congress moved on to other things, like tax cuts and the issue of the day."

18) The 2004 Pro-Choice Womens Rights March on Washington

There was almost no coverage at all by FOX, and O'Reilly did not say one word about the march, is that what they call fair and balanced ?

CNN covered it pretty good, MSNBC covered it pretty good, and C-SPAN broadcast it live.

You can bet your ass if it had been a pro-life march they would have covered it for hours. O'Reilly is pro-life so that is probably why he did not cover the story.
I watched FOX to see how they would cover it, I saw one woman (Jane Skinner) at FOX report it. She gave it a 5 second mention during an across america segment, and she said thousands of woman marched on washington.

That was it, a 5 second mention saying THOUSANDS marched.

Earth to FOX right-wing media whores, they had over a million people, not thousands, or hundreds of thousands, it was a million or more. And it was the biggest march in the history of the country, the old record was 600,000, yet FOX only gave it a 5 second mention.

WASHINGTON, April 25 /U.S. Newswire/ -- America's pro-choice majority and international supporters marched over a million strong in the nation's capital today, protesting attacks on women's reproductive rights.

"We sent a message to Washington today: there is a war on choice in this country, but we're going to win this battle," said Gloria Feldt, president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA).

"If this administration and Congress don't get the message after today, they are deaf to a growing wave of outrage," said Feldt.

On 4-26-04 I wrote this on the message board:

I am guessing O'Reilly will just pretend it never happened, just like the Janklow manslaughter case where the republican congressman killed a guy.

I was exactly right, O'Reilly ignored the biggest womens march in the history of America, he did not say one word about it, and his claim of no bias was just shot to hell. Every other news show in the country had major coverage of the event, except for FOX news and the O'Reilly Factor.

19) Republican Governor Gets Impeached (Not a Word From O'Reilly)

To be honest the guy was forced to resign or be impeached, he decided to resign after he knew he would be impeached if he did not resign. If this guy were a democrat O'Reilly would have done 5 or 6 segments on it, but since he is a republican not a word from O'Reilly. Not only has he not covered the story, he has not said a word about it. Even though it was a big story for weeks and all over the media today. Every news show on tv covered it except for the factor. Of course FOX news barely mentioned it on any of their shows.

June 21 Gov. John G. Rowland of Connecticut announced Monday that he would resign from office July 1, yielding to a devastating political reality that for months left him with few defenders as he faced an impeachment inquiry and a federal corruption investigation into his personal relationships with people doing business with the state.

The governor, a third-term Republican once among the stars of his party, mentioned his mistakes in just one sentence, a line not included in the official text of the speech released afterward by his office.

"I acknowledge that my poor judgment has brought us here," he said in a televised address.

But he has time to trash Michael Moores movie again. I think a Governor being Impeached is far more Important than a movie. Don't You ?
